PartyGaming
PartyGaming entered the online backgammon gaming industry in
June 2006, with their backgammonroom PartyGammon. PartyGaming
owns 4 brands: PartyPoker, PartyCasino, PartyBingo and
PartyGammon. PartyPoker was launched in 2001 and soon became the
biggest online pokerroom, and now PartyGaming will try to
achieve the same in the backgammon industry. The company is
listed on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker: PRTY. They
are based in Gibraltar and the Group has over 1,200 employees.
PartyAccount
When you want to play you first have to create an account. This
PartyAccount can be used for every brand of PartyGaming and your
real balance can therefore be used to play backgammon, but also
for the casino, to play poker and to play bingo. You can fund
the account using a creditcard (Visa, Mastercard), FPS-ePassport,
Entropay, NETeller, Money Transfer, Bank Wire Transfer and
Moneybookers. The minimum deposit amount is $50.
Software
Now let's take a look at the software. This is what the lobby of
PartyGammon looks like:

In the topleft corner you see some quick details of your
account: your nickname, real balance and PartyPoints. Below this
you can see the latest News&Events that PartyGammon brings you.
In the middle column you can choose a category in which you like
to play a game, let it be real money or play money. In these
categories you can choose between BackGammon, Hypergammon and
Nackgammon.
The right column gives you a list of the games that are
currently being played and games that are waiting for an
opponent to join. If you like to play you can either create a
new game, or join a waiting player.
Below the board one can see the pipcount. Besides the count,
there is a clock for each player that is ticking with every
turn. When your clock runs out of time the timebank will start
encounting.
